Pavilion village
One tent per community, each with its own kitchen, its own table and its own hour on the programme. The village is the centre of the field and everything else arranges itself around it.

One field by the river, fourteen zones, one walking loop. The drawing comes later; the scheme is here now, so you can tell us what is missing before a single stake goes in the ground.

The ground.
LeBreton Flats Park sits on the Ottawa River between the Canadian War Museum and the Pimisi O-Train station. It is federal land, flat, open and served by one train stop at the gate — which is why we picked it.
Venue · applied for, not granted
Everything below is what we intend to build on that field. Permission to build it belongs to the National Capital Commission, and the application goes in this autumn. Until the NCC signs, this page describes an intention with a date on it.
The scheme is public this early on purpose. A community that needs its cooking fire near a water point, a vendor who needs a van at the back of the row, a family that needs the quiet tent within sight of the kids' workshops — all of that is cheap to change on a page and expensive to change on a field.

The middle.
Pavilions and stages hold the centre, so the walk from any tent to any music is short and the sound carries across open grass.

Main stage
Faces the open lawn, so the audience stands on grass and the speakers point away from the neighbours. Anchor performances, opening and closing.

Second stage · held above the funding gate
Smaller, set inside the village, for every group that has twenty minutes, a drum and something to show. The working budget carries one stage. A second stage opens on the day confirmed cash clears the threshold at the cash gate on 15 February 2027, and this zone keeps its place in the scheme until that answer arrives.
The measured plan lands in summer 2027.
Until then this page carries the scheme, and the scheme is still soft.

The eating end.
Cooking and making run along one line, so the whole street is one walk and the row of makers faces it the entire way.

Kitchen street
A single walking line with pavilion kitchens opening onto it. Prices stay at family level, and every dish is cooked by the community that owns the recipe.

Craft row
Makers at tables: embroidery, ceramics, jewellery, print, wood. Whoever sells at this row made the thing they are selling.

The quiet end.
Children and rest get their own corner of the field, far enough from the speaker line that a two-year-old can sleep through the headliner.
The quiet zone is a fixed commitment of this festival and appears on every version of this map

Kids and learning
Workshops with one thing to make and carry home, a story hour, and the language corner for children growing up between two of them.

Quiet zone
A shaded tent out of the sound line: no programming, low light, seating, room for a pram and a wheelchair. Any volunteer can walk you to it.

The boring half of a map is the half people look for first. It gets marked before the stages do.

Water points
Free, refillable, spread so that no zone is a long walk from one. Bring a bottle and fill it as often as you like.

Washrooms
Banks at the ends of the walking loop, each within sight of the zone it serves, with a servicing lane behind them.

Accessible washrooms
In every bank, on hard level ground, near the gates and near the quiet zone, with lit paths between them.

The edges.
Gates, help and wheels sit on the perimeter, where an ambulance can reach them and a lost phone can be handed in without crossing the field.

Entrances
Walking in is free. The main gate faces Pimisi station, a second gate takes vehicles and deliveries, and the accessible drop-off with a Para Transpo bay sits beside the main gate.

Info desk
Inside the main gate. Programme times, lost people, lost children, lost phones, accessibility requests, and the volunteer whose whole job is removing barriers on the day.

First aid
Staffed, signed and central, on a lane wide enough for a vehicle to come in and go out without moving the crowd.

Bike parking
Racks at the main gate, watched during opening hours, sized for a summer Saturday when half the city arrives on two wheels.

Four dates stand between the scheme above and a measured plan with distances on it. Each one is a document, an office and an answer we do not have yet.
